October 2025: let's get this thing going!
Oct 26th: Raise a pint at the yard opening
EXCITE! The taproom will be open for first time on Sunday! In celebration of the yard opening, our own Salthouse Pale Ale will be available on draught and in can; joined on-tap by the delicious Full Disclosure from the gorgeous Beer Riff.

From container to brewery...
At the end of June 2025, an empty 40ft refrigerated container rocked up in Crofty, landing in the Gower Dough Co yard. After some fun with heavy moving equipment it was in place, level, ready for built-out...
This thing is huge! I'm going to be busy!
It feels VAST compared to the previous dinky 20ft container - twice as long and a foot more headroom. It will afford the luxury of a larger brew space while being able to add a dedicated cold room at the back.

It was a daunting prospect to turn this empty silver box into a fully-functioning brewery, needing flooring, drainage, water, power, lighting, cooling, heating, let alone a complete taproom... oof...
But it had enough coats of looking at! It was time to get started! Working with gusto over summer where time could be found between other jobs, July and August were hectic, but progress was good... and rewarded, what a location for a beer!
Many firsts on this build - much gratitude to those involved for the opportunity to learn!
Let's BREW!
Come September, it was at about 75% complete, but with all the core parts working, it was time to test the brewing workflow. Some wrinkles to iron out, but our delicious Salthouse Pale has been born!
And here we are in October, about 90% done with the build. Still a load to do, but we're heading into the festive season ready to make some banging brews for your delight!
Your humble brewer is taking a well-earned long weekend break. Although I won't see you at the Yard Opening, I look forward to catching up over an ale at Crofty Fridays and yard events during November and December!
